i just returned yesterday from my 33 hours of intensity in seattle. i went to the 18th oracle gathering, the kings chamber. i am still thinking of a word to describe the kind of event the oracle gathering tribe orchestrates. it's more than a rave, prayer performance, art installation, be in or love in, in short it's something so new as to be undef(y)nable. after seeing their performance a couple of weeks ago at synergensis, i had to go through the whole experience, and any expectations i could of had were blown away in a dazzling display of multi media, art, beauty, and love.
i was speechless at the poetry reading alex grey foretell of his dizzying love affair with life. i was enamored by the tribal elders speaking of the spirit of sovereignty we must stand for in the universe. i was enraptured by the living enactment of the death and rebirth of god. i have come to know through the performance what authentic paganism is. the dance and rhythmic music with some of the most wonderful people i've ever met to top it all off.
being close to halloween eve, most people came dressed in a wide assortment of costumes, some of which in creativity and originality were striking in and of themselves. whither the mummy, the witch, the viking, the i dont know what, the faery's and warriors, the stilt walkers and trees...
the performance was a ritualistic telling of the murder of Osiris at the hands of his brother Set, and his resurrection by his sister and wife, Isis. the setting of the stage was greatly prepared by the Elder who informed us of the three chambers (representing the three degrees of initation, and birth, life, and the death/rebirth matrix) that exist at the great pyramid of gaza and the hidden tunnels that weave through the gaze of the Sphinx. when at one time the king was supposed to represent the health and vigour of our people, it is now us, without caste, that need to step up to our role as masters of our realm that has been neglected and abused for far too long. and like the four challenges the Sphinx asks of us: to know, to will, to understand, and to keep silent, must we emote what kings have lived and died for the Earthdom all who are of our office is charged to protect. at the end of the night and peak of dawn, we experienced in the Sun arising, Osiris risen: whose wealth and bounty we evoked to rise to our chants and drums.
that energy and presence has filled the quintessence of my mind to work truly and effectively, the magic life has to unfurl. the dawn of the gathering is the context for love and understanding to encircle the globe with light.
