Rígsþula: The Lay of Rig

this Edda is very different from all the others.  in it, the god Rig, who also does not appear anywhere else in the Eddas, promulgates a caste system like the hindus in the Rig Veda.  in irish the word Rig means King.  Rig has access to his hosts wife, which was custom at the time, and the three offspring were the servants, workers, the nobles, and his final son was the king.  you can read a translated text at http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/rig.html
